Your first steps
What to expect when you start therapy
Initiating the counseling process can feel intimidating. Here is exactly how it works with me, start to finish — so nothing is a mystery.
- 01
Making contact
The first step is simply reaching out — by phone, email, or the contact form. I am here and ready when you are. From there, we set up your free telephone consultation.
- 02
Free telephone consultation
A free 15-minute conversation where we get to know each other. I'll ask general questions about what's bringing you to counseling, and you can ask anything about my therapeutic style. No pressure, no commitment.
- 03
Scheduling & paperwork
After the consultation, we schedule your initial appointment — in person in Argyle, TX, or via telehealth for residents of Texas or California. You'll get access to a secure, HIPAA-compliant portal to review and sign documentation and complete questionnaires. Finishing forms beforehand means our first session is spent getting to know each other, not doing paperwork.
- 04
The first appointment
Think of this as a meet-and-greet: we begin building a professional relationship, establish trust and safety, and set goals for what you want to work on. I get to be purely curious about you — never coming from a place of judgment, only wanting to learn what is going on in your life.
- 05
The work
This is where we dive in and move toward the goals you've set — one step at a time, individualized to your needs. This is your time, your space, your voice. My job is to support you, provide honest feedback, and make sure your voice is heard.
Ready for step one?
The consultation is free, and reaching out commits you to nothing.

Fees & payment
How much does a session cost?
Sessions are $175 for 50 minutes. Payment is collected at the end of each session — I accept cash, check, Venmo, and all major credit cards.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not currently accept insurance, which means more privacy and control during our work together — no required diagnosis, no records shared with an insurance company. If you have a PPO plan, we can discuss a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
How long is the free consultation?
About 15 minutes by phone. It's a chance to share what you're looking for, ask questions, and make sure we're a good fit before you commit to anything.
